Armoury Steward
Organisation
Royal Gunpowder Mills
You will welcome visitors, and engage with them to explain and show the weapons and equipment in the armoury exhibition. Enable visitors to get the most from the experience by giving interesting and relevant information dependant on the interest levels of the visitor.
Opportunities also exist to help with the up-keep and improvement of the exhibition outside the times when it is open to the public.
To ensure the exhibition is safe and looking its best at all times. Welcome visitors and pass on relevant information in an interesting way and at a level to suit each visitor. Guide and help visitors to get the most out of the exhibition ensuring they have an enjoyable and safe time.
As part of the visitor attraction, Armoury Stewards will also be expected to answer general queries about RGM from visitors, or direct them to find the information they require.
Everyone must ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the Company’s Health and Safety Policy and other relevant policies.

Availability details
Mainly Sundays but occasionally different days. Ideally you would be willing to volunteer during the day 10am-4.30pm, or an agreed shift (half a day) within those hours. There is a rota on the days we open and we will ask volunteers to offer their time any days they can during these times. There may also be occasional other days for behind the scenes work. A regular commitment would be ideal but we will be grateful for any offer of time.
