Volunteers are needed to befriend and support people with brain injury, recovering from a stroke, living with dementia or with mental health issues two clients, for a maximum of two hours per week. You must possess good communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to listen and respond to the client without making judgements. The role require two references and a DBS check is essential. Induction and training are given and travel expenses are provided.
What skills do I need?
Anyone can be a befriender as long they are over 18 years old, have good communication skills, including listening and have a friendly personality.
