Enjoy this impressive environment and become one of the team responsible for ensuring various areas of the site are kept at their best. The key areas of the visitor attraction need to be kept litter free, neat and tidy. There are pathways, lawns, exhibition grounds and a playground. The main tasks are cutting grass, shrubs and brambles, clearing roads & pathways, collecting litter and natural debris. There are occasional projects when changes are made on site or an area is given a fresh look. All work is aimed towards maintaining this important historic and natural site and making it possible for visitors to enjoy the walks, exhibitions, views and events in safety and comfort.
Assist the staff in keeping the site well maintained & presentable to provide a safe environment and a high quality visitor attraction.
To be responsible and take pride in the presentation of the visitor area of the site.
Carrying out tasks such as grass cutting, sweeping pathways, raking leaves, trimming foliage and ensuring everywhere is safe and presentable. Working on relevant projects and tasks as directed and agreed by RGM staff.
Ensuring that all work is carried out in accordance with the Company’s Health and Safety Policy and other relevant policies.
What skills do I need?
Ideally we seek someone:
With the ability and willingness to work out of doors.
Able to follow instruction and use some initiative in the tasks carried out.
Ability to understand the appropriate use of tools/equipment and other relevant health & safety issues.
Willing to learn to use various hand tools/basic machinery
Desirable but not essential:
Practical grounds maintenance experience.
Particular skills/training in grounds maintenance.
Experience in working with relevant tools/machinery.

Availability details
Between 9.30am-4.30pm Mainly weekdays. Volunteers can give a regular commitment for example once a week or be called on when needed for tasks to prepare the site for specific events or to develop special projects.
