Volunteers are needed to deliver activities for participants using equipment to create a club running at the library, at least once a month. We have a room full of equipment for a project called Makerspace. Part of this equipment includes a 3D printer.

Activities may be clubs, workshops, or events. We’d like at least once activity per month, the more the better!

Taks:

  • Arrive at the library to lead 3D printing sessions.
  • Teach participants how to use the FlashForge Creator 3D printer.
  • Develop lesson plans as the club grows (initial sessions may focus on specific participant goals, such as printing a model from Etsy).
  • Work with participants of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Schedule sessions at a regular day and time convenient for you (to be discussed during the interview).
  • Conduct sessions lasting at least one hour.

What skills do I need?

  • Strong knowledge of 3D printing.
  • Ability to create models and print them.
  • Good communication and teaching skills.
  • Confidence in speaking to groups.
  • Excellent IT skills.

·       Ability to work with all ages and backgrounds.

  • Positive, patient, cheerful, and understanding attitude.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.

The volunteer may also need to make some lesson plans for sessions once popularity picks up, but initially the participants may come to the club with a specific goal in mind
