Vinyl cutting instructor

Volunteers are required to deliver hourlong training sessions in vinyl cutting, using library equipment. You will help participants use vector graphics to create digital cut-outs, using Signcut and Inkscape software, and print designs onto vinyl. Volunteers must be over 18, with knowledge of vector editing software and vinyl cutting on a PixMax PME720. Flexible times.
Tasks:
- Arrive at the library to lead vinyl cutting sessions using library equipment.
- Teach participants how to use vector graphics software including Signcut, Signcut Draw, and Inkscape.
- Show participants how to set up and operate the PixMax PME720 vinyl cutter.
- Develop lesson plans as the club grows (initial sessions may focus on individual projects, such as printing a photo onto vinyl).
- Work with participants of all ages and backgrounds.
- Schedule sessions at a regular day and time convenient for you (to be discussed during the interview).
- Conduct sessions lasting at least one hour.
What skills do I need?

- Experience using vinyl cutters, specifically the PixMax PME720.
- Knowledge of vector graphics and how to edit images for vinyl cutting.
- Good communication and teaching skills.
- Confidence speaking to groups.
- Positive, patient, and approachable attitude.
- Good literacy and numeracy skills.
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
- Volunteers must be over 18.
