Cooking Champions
We are looking to recruit new trustees to join our board. Trustees are essential to Cooking Champions as a registered charity. They work to ensure that Cooking Champions delivers on what it sets out to do and can be trusted by those who donate money or use its services.
What skills do I need?
We are looking for people who are willing to share their time to be part of a small and dedicated team. Ideally, we are looking for people that have one or more of the following qualities:
● Previous Trustee experience. ● Lived experience of food insecurity, someone who understands our recipients or with local connections. ● Fundraising experience to enhance the existing trustee skillset. ● Finance/accountancy expertise to enhance the existing trustee skillset. ● A background in food or food systems (Locally, London or UK-wide).

Availability details
The trustee board meets at regular intervals and will likely require a mix of online evening meetings with some meetings taking place in the working day. Trustees are required to spend time preparing for and attending meetings. ○ Trustees have responsibilities to deliver the annual report, keep policies up to date, and are asked to offer their time and expertise to staff on an ad-hoc basis. ○ Trustees may also need to attend specific events either at the Community Kitchen or in the wider London area to represent the charity. ○ Ideally all trustees would find some time to visit the Community Kitchen to understand the community in which we work and support the work of staff and volunteers. ○ As a small charity without significant administrative support, trustees are expected to contribute to the running of the governance processes.
