Volunteers will escort and accompany clients with dementia to help them to activity centre and help them on the return journey home in the afternoon on community transport as arranged, preferably available in afternoon,2.30-5pm on weekdays. Training is given. Flexible hours and expenses are paid.

Tasks:

Escort clients from the centre ensuring they are safely transported.

In our 14-seater Minibus you will accompany our Driver

In the afternoon shift you will clients return them back home from the day care centre

You will need to be sensitive to individual needs, support them, help with wheelchairs etc.

2. To provide cover at volunteer holiday times / volunteer sickness times, if another EAWA volunteer is not available.

Consider helping in the AM Morning Collection from Homes to the day centre 8am to 10am, if the current person is not available.

Implement Health and Safety procedures to ensure the safe, effective action is always

taken for self, clients, and organisation.

4. To report promptly any areas of concern and/or deterioration in health of clients.

5. To undertake training courses e.g., manual handling, first aid.

We pay for the course and reimburse volunteer expenses with a proven receipt e.g. travel.

6. To attend training, reviews, any other relevant meetings.

7. To ensure that you adhere to style and culture of EAWA and promote, respect,

confidentiality, and dignity.

8. To conduct yourself all times in accordance with EAWA’s mission statement, charitable

objectives and team values.

9. To observe adherence to all relevant operational policies that impact on the role plus, health and safety procedures.
