Youth voice volunteer
Organisation
Success Club Charity
Youth voice is the process of involving young people in decision-making and other activities that affect them. As a Youth Voice Facilitator you will work alongside our Success Club team to plan and deliver our Youth Voice forums. As a volunteer you are just as much a part of the team and you will be an integral part of creating a supportive and inclusive environment for the groups of young people we work with. Be on the watch for young people struggling to participate and, as appropriate, encourage them and support them in engaging more fully. Our Facilitators will always have the lead on any session but love to get our volunteers involved with presenting and leading different parts of the programme as you grow in experience.
What skills do I need?
This role is perfect for volunteers who are passionate about youth empowerment, enjoy building positive relationships and want to help young people gain confidence and feel valued. We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers who enjoy connecting with young people and who have an understanding of the importance of young people having a voice. Youth Voice volunteers will have a genuine interest in working with young people, bringing a positive attitude, energy, and a compassionate, kind approach. Reliability, commitment, flexibility, and a willingness to dive into tasks are essential as we strive to create an inclusive and inspiring environment for all participants. We ask volunteers to commit to continuing with a group for the duration of the programme so that there is consistency for the children and young people we work with. We provide training alongside volunteering so that you can get the most out of what you are doing. An enhanced DBS will be required for working with children and young people. We will process this once you are onboarded as a volunteer.
